      Hi.
I would say that if you want to work as a scientist/researcher it is strongly advisable to obtain a scientific academic degree, i.e. Bachelor of Science, in the discipline you like most and you want to work on. This step will allow you to get access to scientific jobs, mostly in private company. If you want to become a scientist in the public sector (Universities, hospitals, public research bodies) you would probably complete your training following either a Master of Science degree and/or a Doctorate degree at the University.

If you would like to work as a scientist when you are grown up like your parents it is really important to find an area of science that you like! for me that was chemistry and especially making medicine and learning how it works. Everyone is different though, so pick what ever topic interests you!
You then need to go through secondary school and this will help you figure out what you like more. You will get to pick a college course and work really hard to get in and you can study almost any topic! there is a course out there for everyone!

I studied two science subjects in school (biology and physics) so that I could get into a science degree in college. I specialized after two years into Ecology (/environmental science), and then got a research scientist job. I never had a clear plan of what I wanted to do but I knew that I loved science! I would say just focus on the subjects that you enjoy, there’s a really wide range of subjects you can do in college and there’s something to suit everyone đŸ™‚
