      Hi,

      It really depends what you mean as a substitute. You can have sugar syrups that can have the same sugar content of the honey, but honey is more complex than just a sugar syrup. In the honey, you can also find some little proteins (called enzymes) which are the main responsible for its anti-inflammatory characteristic of the honey. For example, if you have a sore throat honey is a good food which can help you to relieve a bit of your pain, just because of those enzymes.

      To directly reply to your question: no, you cannot have a honey substitute, honey is a unique food with unique properties.
