Question: What is the ideal tempeture of the water for the fresh water pearl mussels

They prefer cold temperatures, I’m not sure of the exact temperatures but I think over 15 degrees celcius it starts to stress them out; in Ireland they live to over 100 years but they can live even longer in colder countries like Sweden. Scientists usually check the temperature in mussel rivers to make sure it’s not getting too high for them to have their young!
